Facilitation to cultivate inclusive, innovative culture.

Hi, I’m Sam! I have an interdisciplinary background in facilitation, product management, user experience research, data analytics, software engineering, education, instructional design, and more. Learn more about my background or read on to see how I work in different domains.

Software product teams

As a product manager for cross-functional software teams, my job is to architect collaborative decision-making amongst a team of creatives to build products that customers love. I solicit ideas and inputs from many teammates and stakeholders, balance business, design, and technical needs, champion the user voice, and lead the team to build and improve our digital products. In addition to delivering results, I use facilitation to cultivate an empowered, healthy team culture that is sustainable in the long-term.

Workshop design and facilitation

As a workshop designer and facilitator, I teach concepts using experiential learning activities, peer feedback, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants are encouraged to take an active role in their learning - not just passively listen to theory. They also get to experiment with culture during the workshop, and then apply these skills and perspective shifts as soon as they return to their day-to-day lives.

Partner dance instruction

As a dance instructor in partner dance communities, I teach in a way that centers consent with a trauma-informed, gender-expansive, and somatic lens. I believe that these spaces are a microcosm of cultural changes and skill-building that make the world a more inclusive and safer place for people of marginalized identities - all while participants are having fun and connecting with each other.
